A dog's point of view.

Hi, I am Duffy Duff.  I thought maybe you'd like to know what I think about my mom having cancer.  I think it stinks.  It really is affecting my play time.  Mom still takes me on walks but sometimes I feel like she is rushing me.  I don't understand it.  Would it really hurt to let me stop and sniff out that rabbit?  I guess I'm stuck in the anger phase.  It just isn't fair that I don't get all the mom time I want right now.  So I try to show mom that I want a little play time by grabbing socks, shoes, or stuffed animals and running through the house with them.   Mom doesn't think it is fun.  The one good thing about mom having cancer is I do get to cuddle with her and nap a lot more.  This weekend mom bleached her hair and now we really do look like blood relatives.  Of course, she told me not to get used to it because she won't have hair much longer but for now we're having a little fun.

  1. Wow, I have been amazed at all your hard work, but now you have outdone yourself. You have trained Duffy to keyboard. I know D'Arcy and Desi are cute but not in a million years would these two learn to type. Get well soon and God bless!

  3. Duffy is a very talented pet. If Duffy says, "Cancer stinks," then it does. Dogs have excellent smelling skills.

  4. Duffy. Now that you've mastered the keyboard, please learn to put dust cloths on your paws and clean the kitchen floor. Then you can move onto folding laundry. Woof!

  5. Well now Duffy Duff, I can see that you are bewildered by all of this. Just give your Mama a little time. Give her permission to feel all her feelings; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Let her rest whenever she feels like it. And when you are cuddling with her give her all the love you have to her. You might even fix her a berry smoothie with a cup of frozen blueberries, 6 oz pineapple juice, activia yogurt and maybe some good quality protein powder mixed in, yummy!! (Berries have Quercetin which have the potential to revert cancerous cells back to normal) You'll see! Sbe up and about in no time!!
